About our client
For our client, a trading company leader in its field, we are currently looking to recruit a:

Financial Controller - Mining Division

Job description
- Responsible for all aspects of the monthly financial reporting and co-ordinate proper and timely preparation of annual statutory accounts.
- Be the key point of contact in accounting and control for the business related to your ledgers. Work closely with the business to understand the transactions they are undertaking and ensure these are recorded.
- Produce the monthly, consolidated Mining Management Report, including commentary.
- Prepare and review of quarterly derivative disclosures under Financial instruments accounting standards (IAS 39/IFRS).
- Prepare, document and post PPA's, reclassification and elimination journals at period ends.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly reporting packs.
- Ensure that monthly hedge effectiveness tests are performed and documented and that hedge accounting requirements are adhered to.
- Maintain the accounting policies of the entities in scope of the Mining division and ensure that these are properly and consistently applied across the group.
- Prepare a monthly management commentary on PnL and significant balances and balance sheet movements.
- Advise business partners and senior management pro-actively and on-demand based on value added financial analysis
- Assess and evidence financial controls and persuade management and colleagues to adopt possibly unpopular solutions.
- Manage fixed data integral to the accounting ledger (SUN Accounts)
- Prepare audit documentation and liaise with external auditors.
- Responsible for re-charge of costs incurred by Mining Division to external parties or internal departments.
 

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- Have 3 to 6 years experience in Accounting/Controlling
- Be Certified Accountant
- Have a previous experience in Mining Accounting (very desirable)
- Be fluent in English, ideally fluent in Spanish
- Self motivated with a mature attitude. Able to cope in a stressful, demanding environment.
