The Company:

Global provider of customized alternative investments solutions to institutional investors, including offices in  Zurich, New York, Cayman and Hong Kong.

More about the role:

Managing risk is crucial for this business. For them the risk management process starts before a hedge fund manager is selected and is monitored closely with constant reviews of NAVs, risk exposures and portfolios. 

A high level of due diligence is carried out to ensure that there is no breach of investment guidelines and therefore minimizes the risks associated with trade executions, FX transactions, NAV calculations and back office operations.

Due to expansion in the team this company is now looking to add a new member to risk managing department. Working with colleagues in New York you will be reporting directly to the Head of Risk and Operational Due Diligence.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the investment team and the CRO your role will involve;

  • Conducting risk and operational due diligence on potential hedge fund candidates
  • Reviewing procedures and controls at service providers
  • Evaluating the risk management framework and internal risk limits
  • Monitoring approved funds via on-site visits to hedge fund managers
  • Performing single manager investment guidelines and,
  • Monitoring single hedge fund exposures

 Requirements:

  • We are looking for a team player with 3-5 years experience in Risk and Operational Due Diligence, or a similar function
  • You should be a university graduate with a Bachelor degree and a fluent English speaker.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office are desired and CA, ACA, CFA, CAIA designations are a plus.
  • You must have interpersonal communication skills and the ability to cope with a dynamic and challenging environment.
