A reputable global corporate banking organisation is looking for a Senior Credit Risk Portfolio Analyst with excellent people management skills based in the City in their Credit Risk Management Division.

The role:

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for predicting and managing credit risk. The tasks involve overseeing daily credit limit monitoring procedures as well as identifying related information such as event of default. You will be responsible for credit risk reporting and valuation of banking portfolio assets including underwriting loan transactions. Other duties will include managing covenant and collateral monitoring functions on a monthly basis. You will also be Monitoring credit value at risks and market-to-market risks of corporate finance. Calculation of expected loss and management of collateral are an additional part of the role. You will be working closely with Front Office to assist and give advice.

You will be responsible for managing a small team as well as deputising for the department manager in their absence.

Requirement:

To be successful, you will have excellent understanding of Credit Risk analysis and portfolio methodologies. Understanding valuation concepts is essential. You will be highly mathematical and have the knowledge of corporate finance, leverage, project finance, and syndication within credit risk functions. Due to nature of role, excellent Excel and Access skills are essential with Japanese language skills being considered highly advantageous. Financial accounting experience is considered useful. The successful candidate will be looking at portfolio as a whole and segments of portfolios rather than individual customers, therefore, experience in portfolio analysis and management is considered useful.

This is a very varied role with wide range of responsibilities. The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated and disciplined to be able to carry out day to day risk monitoring/valuation/reporting activities plus managing other team members.

You must be able to work under pressure to work towards tight deadlines. Previous people management experience is essential.
