Key areas of responsibilities:

• Responsible for coordinating involvement from all parties involved in the delivery of application services to the client

• Accountable for identifying and mitigating risks to the service delivery and proactively address and resolve issues before they impact service levels

• Lead periodic problem analysis meetings with all parties involved in the delivery of application services to the client

• Follow all established processes and procedures for both development and maintenance work

• Lead the deployment of and support complex in-house & 3rd party applications

• Escalate issues and seeking of advice from Level 3/development team on complex issues or problems in a timely manner

• Manage and lead assigned projects that will improve operational efficiency

Education/Experience:

• Degree requirements – BS – course of study (e.g. Computer science, engineering)

• Work experience – 10 + years management experience, three years as a technical manager

• This candidate should have 5+ years experience as a DBA or Network engineer

• Work experience within the financial sector

• CCNP a plus for network candidate

• Strong experience and a good working knowledge of real time trading systems

• Excellent troubleshoot/problem solving skills across a wide variety of technologies and disciplines

• Extensive experience of managing client queries and problems

• Strong communications skills with a demonstrable ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organization as well as with clients

• Excellent documentation skills

• Demonstrable experience of managing, owning and delivering high quality projects to objectives and within time scales

• Good working knowledge of application integration and testing

• Experienced working in a 24/5 real time trading environment

Required Skills (Network):

• Cisco PIX and Checkpoint Firewall rule additions and maintenance
• Support of Cisco and Foundry based networks.
• Troubleshooting customer connectivity issues
• Script writing for log analysis
• Documentation of work

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols. Excellent troubleshooting and protocol analysis skills required.

• Background with Cisco IOS, CatOS and CSS load balancer systems
• Working knowledge of PIX and Checkpoint firewalls
• Excellent Network Management Tools
• Familiarity with industry standard network monitoring tools
• 1st level Unix Admin skills (Solaris and/or Linux )
• 1st Level Windows Administration skills.
• Unix and Windows scripting skills is a plus
• Visio and general documentation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Required Skills (Database):

• Provide local database support

• Setup/monitor/perform Oracle database backup
• Database Space monitoring and maintenance 
• the DBA will be tasked to provide standardization/optimization of database/OS
• Database trending and analysis

• Oracle DBA experience on Linux/Unix with production support experience

• Strong experience with Oracle 9I and 10G RAC

• Ability to proactively design monitoring tools for database environment

• Ability to do complex queries & validate expected results in the database

• Working Knowledge of Oracle functions, procedure, and triggers using PL/SQL
• Good scripting skills in one of the following languages(Perl,Korn,C-shell)
• Monitor and plan storage, back-up and recovery activities for database
• Experience with disaster recovery setup and execution
• 1st level Unix Admin skills (Solaris and/or Linux )
• 1st Level Windows Administration skills.
• Unix and Windows scripting skills is a plus
• Visio and general documentation skills

Experience with the following a plus:

• Experience supporting JAVA applications

• Working knowledge in the following areas:

oUNIX or Linux operating systems

oWeb servers (Apache)

oJMS (e.g. ActiveMQ)

oContainer management (e.g. Tomcat)

oDistributed Caching software (e.g. Gigaspaces,Gemfire)

• Strong knowledge of java and java libraries, Swing, messaging and design patterns.

• General/Advanced unix/linux support (not to SA standard).

• Scripting skills (PERL, Pyton, etc)

• HTML, DHTML, CSS, Javascript – general web development technologies.

• Financial sector and E-commerce experience, especially if gained from another trading platform.

• An understanding of the FIX protocol.

• Exposure to Sonic JMS & Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
