Docklands based Investment Bank seek a European Head of Futures Technology. The role calls for a person to manage the European Front & Middle office Listed Derivatives IT teams.

You must be a subject matter expert in Futures Trading and or Clearing IT, experience of Project Management across IT and business functions in the Futures or Equity Trading space, experience of people management, ability to define and manage tight budgets. You must understand IT architecture including working with distributed multi-tier systems, databases & messaging architectures. Must have a solid understanding of development methodology / release management as well on capacity; performance and latency. Ability to build strong relationships with and be able to explain complex technical terms and solutions to senior management in both the business and technology

In the Front office this firm is building a leading edge client facing trading platform which allows clients to trade via desktop screens using FIX (High Speed - Low Latency). The firm is scaling the architect to the next generation platform to help the business grow globally and offer differentiating features including algorithmic trading. Currently the firm are in the process of revamping all the middle – office flows & streamlining allocations & reporting for their clients

You will face off against the global head of the Future business in London as well as senior product managers. You will work with the business to define & execute a strategy with technology solutions.

This is a challenging, high profile role which involves managing a dynamic team of 8 people and responsible for all European development in the Futures space, there is tremendous opportunity for organic growth in this exciting environment.

You will have a development background in trading technology (Java or C++) any knowledge of PATS SmartConnect systems, GL Trade’s Clearvision, FIX Protocol, large scale Java /J2EE enterprise systems development for high throughput, scaleable, transaction systems.
