A leading Wealth Manager is looking for a Collateral Evaluations Analyst

This role provides direct support to the Head of Collateral Evaluation. One of the key aspects in lending against investments is determination of the suitability of the assets as collateral and assigning the appropriate Lending Value Percentage (LVP).  This team supports all areas of the business, in all geographical locations for all marketable securities.  The role holder will be required to allocate LVPs either within the Policy framework or on a bespoke basis. This includes all forms of marketable securities including, but not limited to, equities, bonds, traditional funds, hedge funds and structured notes. In addition, the role requires assistance with the development of a competitive credit policy for marketable securities within pre-defined risk appetite.

Core accountabilities:
Collateral Evaluation:

Development and maintenance of margining methodology for equity and FX derivatives.  Responsibility for the allocation of Lending Value Percentages either within the Policy framework or on a bespoke basis.  Produce quantitative models for analysis of bulk risk and single line of stock positions as well as developing monitoring models for complex transactions.  Provide assistance in quantifying exposure and concentration risk to all asset classes and ensure security level Lending Value percentages accurately reflect Credit Policy in line with Market movements.   Where the Collateral Evaluation team has advised lending values for large single securities positions, the role holder will be required to establish shadow monitoring of these positions and report on them via the weekly margin call meeting and monthly management information report.

Margining of OTC Derivatives and Margining Methodology
Development of margining methodology where required, working alongside the product office and structure products groups to ensure the most appropriate risk methodology is developed and used. This may require consultation with colleagues in other areas of the bank and an understanding of the systems used for risking and monitoring derivatives.
Monitoring of large single stock positions

Policy and New Product Sign-Off support and development
Support Head of Collateral Evaluation in new policy development and with the development of quantitative models for out of policy reviews. Also provide LVP approval for new products launched by the Product Office and analyse new products that are launched through the new product sign-off process and make recommendations on the conditions for approval.  Consider the impact of new products on credit risk and ensure policy is developed and adapted for new products as well as provide briefings to the credit team on all new products.  Define day 1 and day 2 conditions for new product launches.  

Role requirements:
Technical Knowledge/ Business skills:
Sound knowledge of investment market including asset volatility and other risks, a range of the Banks products, basic knowledge of risk management policy, procedures and pricing and basic credit related product knowledge.

Academic and Professional qualifications:
Excellent mathematical and IT skills, particularly relating to Excel. The role holder will have a strong intellect balanced by practical and pragmatic approach. The right candidate will have relevant financial services experience and be qualified to the industry standard i.e. ACIB, ACCA or equivalent.

Language & Numeric skills:
The right candidate will have an excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels.

Personal attributes:
In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must have the ability to working under pressure and to tight deadlines.  There is a need for strong IT skills, particularly in Excel combined with sound problem solving and decision making skills.
