INTERMEDIATE QUANTITATIVE EQUITY RESEARCH ANALYST - LONDON

The Advanced Research Center at SSgA is a team of approximately 40 researchers, located in Boston, London, Sydney and Tokyo, that builds and supports quantitative investment models for all asset classes.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
State Street Global Advisors invites applications for an Intermediate Equity Research Analyst position. The primary role of this position is to work with other analysts in the Advanced Research Center (ARC), and with investment groups, in the development and improvement of forecasting models for European active quantitative equity strategies.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful applicants will be able to lead and collaborate on projects in security selection, sector rotation, risk modeling and portfolio construction using a variety of advanced quantitative techniques. The position will be based in the London office.
OUR REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should have
-Experience working as an equity research analyst involvement in quant research
-Good knowledge of equity research and asset pricing literature.
-Strong computer skills and good programming experience (especially MATLAB and/or SAS)
-Genuine depth in statistics or econometrics.
-Ability to work well in a collaborative group environment.
-Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
-An advanced degree (preferably a PhD or equivalent) with a strong numerical, statistical or financial engineering component.
