Overview
The Business Development (BD) group provies tactical marketing and business development support to an assigned product group across EMEA. This position is based in Frankfurt and will support the business development effort for Fitch Corporate Ratings across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Role profile
As a member of the Frankfurt Business Development team of seven, you will within this role be the lead marketing and relationship manager for corporate entities based in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In addition, you will also be responsible for the relationships with bankers (mainly rating advisors and origination teams) across the region. This position reports directly to the head of the Frankfurt office.
Your principle responsibility will be the identification of potential target companies as well as the management of the target list of companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You will be responsible for negotiating fess for new issuers and the subsequent relationship management on an ongoing basis.
Additionally, you will be required to develop a close relationship with local bankers in order to identify potential capital market transactions at an early stage and position Fitch Ratings as the agency of choice for these transactions.
You will be part of the European Business Development team and liaise with your counterparts in London particularly with the product coordinator for corporates in EMEA; you will also be expected to work closely with and develop an excellent working relationship with the corporate analysts locally as well as the team heads based in London.
Person profile
This is a senior role that requires extensive relevant relationship banking or debt origination experience coupled with a detailed understanding of the debt capital markets and the funding requirements of corporates, in particular SMEs in Germany. A detailed understanding of corporate credit analysis is not required but corporate analytical experience would be an advantage. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both in German and English and be able to communicate at senior management level, including board members. Strong negotiation skills and interpersonal skills are a pre-requisite.
