The job holder will work as part of a team, using their understanding, knowledge and experience to reach sound judgements and develop client focused solutions. In addition the job holder will act as a mentor/role model, motivating staff to deliver a high standard of work within given timeframes and budgets thereby creating an environment that encourages both individual and team accomplishments. The role can also be developed to include specialist interests, such as producing intellectual capital or team management responsibilities.
Key duties will include the following:
• Attends and actively participates in client meetings, presenting reports and solutions, providing insight into manager developments and driving investment issues.
• Assists clients with the development of appropriate investment strategy, structure and selection arrangements.
• Oversees any implementation of changes to the investment manager arrangements.
• Keeps clients informed of major developments within the industry
• Contributing to new business proposals and/or seeking to extend the range of services provided
Qualifications
The following skills, experience and qualifications are required for this role:
• Thorough understanding of the industry, trends in the pension and investment marketplace, investment markets, investment managers, asset classes and relevant legislation
• Professionally qualified (actuarial, CFA or equivalent) or near to qualification
• Completed/willingness to complete Investment Management Certificate (or other FSA approved exam)
• Willingness to challenge existing practices and conventional thinking
• Able to think laterally to develop creative, innovative and practical solutions to meet client needs
• Able to draft reports and proposals and clearly deliver highly complex information and concepts to clients.
• Able to agree realistic and achievable targets and deadlines with clients to ensure both their needs and those of the business are met
• Ability to delegate work within the team according to agreed deadlines
• Prioritises tasks, establishing a clear focus and direction for others to follow
• Openly shares information and own expertise with others, building mutually beneficially relationships
• Prior experience of working within Investment Consulting
