This is a rare opportunity to join a private equity fund at the entry level and gain exposure to both the investment process and the post-investment portfolio management from day one. Our client has an unique business model which allows it to invest throughout the investment cycle, from start-up to buyout. It invests only within the financial services sector right across Europe, including the emerging markets in the CEE. This flexibility in its approach allows it to take advantage of the right investment opportunity, whatever situation the target company may be in.

As an analyst in the team you will work both with the investment and the post-investment teams. You’ll have the main responsibility for all financial and operational modelling and valuation work for new investments, as well as maintaining the models for the current portfolio companies. You’ll support the execution of the investments made and with any operational improvement work conducted onsite at the companies. As you progress to associate, you’ll have the opportunity to develop in either direction, more towards the new investments or portfolio work, depending on your skills and interests. This is a very rare opportunity to gain this exposure to all facets of the private equity process at entry level. It is important you bring strong financial modelling and analytical skills to the role, as well as financial services sector knowledge, and in return will gain unique exposure.

You’ll need to show:

• Financial services sector experience
• Either: FIG investment banking analyst experience
• Or: Business modeller at Big 4 or securitisation in the FS space
• Experience building valuation models and preferably operating models as well
• You should ideally have experience with Visual Basic or equivalent programming tools
• Good attention to detail
• Confident presenter and prepared to argue your own views
• Strong financial modelling and analysis skills
