A fantastic opportunity has arisen within UK Corporate Banking for a Relationship Director to work within the Real Estate Finance (REF) team based in the Manchester office.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in the UK’s leading Corporate Bank for businesses with turnover in excess of £25 million and will be responsible for the pro-active management of a portfolio of Corporate customers, delivering an outstanding customer experience and providing high quality business solutions. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a deep understanding of key clients and markets within Real Estate Finance enhancing the team’s local market profile, strong understanding of Corporate Banking and provide inspiration and guidance to the team. Key responsibilities will include:

•Demonstrate a deep understanding of key clients and markets within REF and use this understanding to drive additional value out of existing client relationships and deliver new clients/income streams supporting UKCB’s strategic objectives

•Personally cover a portfolio of sophisticated Corporate REF clients as ‘franchise owner’ in conjunction with Portfolio Management to create and maintain robust relationship plans

•Ensure REF sees every deal in our market and is seen as the bank of choice for market intermediaries

•Undertake detailed financial analysis including property modelling, valuation and debt structuring for both existing and target customers

•Be aware of financing and risk management trends in the Sector to develop innovative solutions and have the ability to spread best practices to the benefit of our clients

•Work effectively alongside Portfolio Management, Credit and other RBSG product teams

•Income growth within agreed RAROE/RWA/IoRWA guidelines and meet/exceed personal financial targets

•Establish ‘trusted advisor’ relationships with clients

•Structure product and lending solutions that meet the client’s needs, deliver maximum income for the bank and satisfy risk quality parameters

•Negotiation and execution of legal documentation

•Identify and develop excellent relationships with all key market intermediaries involving an active call programme

•Able to make comprehensive and relevant presentations of the highest quality to clients, prospects, intermediaries

•Develop sector specific knowledge for the benefit of client and bank

Technical Knowledge:

•Strong selling, closing and negotiation skills

•Proven structuring and developed risk analysis skills

•Ability to critically appraise transaction related due diligence, negotiate appropriate legal documentation and manage the transaction completion process

•Broad knowledge of Corporate Banking techniques and the bank’s ability and appetite to deliver solutions

•Extensive product knowledge and proven REF experience

People Management:

•Proactively participate as a member of a highly motivated coverage team

•Coach less experienced staff to develop relevant skills
