An excellent opportunity has arisen for a high quality individual to assume a key position within the Financial Sponsor Leverage (FSL) team in London.

The role is based within the UK’s leading Corporate Bank for businesses with turnover in excess of £25 million. The position will involve proactively developing and maintaining FSL’s relationships with the London based financial sponsor community, originating leveraged transactions backed by FSL’s priority financial sponsors and lead executing such deal flow. We are looking for someone who has superb relationship management skills especially within the Private Equity and Advisory community, provide guidance & inspiration to the team & deliver outstanding customer experience by providing high quality business solutions. Responsibilities

•To create and maintain a pre-eminent market leading position in the provision of senior, mezzanine and other financing solutions to the UK mid-market financial sponsors community, in line with the FSL Asset Class Strategy

•To manage relationships with private equity houses and key financial intermediaries

•To originate new deals and new RBS customers, whilst maintaining high levels of credit quality

•To lead deal teams that deliver transactions of a complex nature, with ultimate responsibility for deal delivery

•Contribute fully to the achievement of FSL UK financial targets by taking a motivated and proactive approach to deal delivery, typically leading a deal team

•Develop and lead a coverage programme for a number of FSL’s financial sponsor relationships that delivers consistent new deal and customer opportunities

•Engender a strong culture of credit and risk management via a strong control and process framework in deal structuring and execution

•Identify and facilitate all cross-sell opportunities in transactions to optimise income flows and return metrics

The Individual

•An experienced deal-doer with a deep understanding of credit risk, debt structuring, and transaction execution, and FSL policies and procedures

•A detailed knowledge of facility, security and other legal documentation and a proven track record in negotiating with borrowers and sponsors

•An appreciation of the corporate finance and private equity markets

•Experience of analysing complex financial information and identifying/structuring appropriate solutions.

•An ability to lead deal teams and effectively manage the development of more junior staff

•Strong internal reputation that enhances the FSL licence to operate – recognised as a confident, reliable and responsible decision maker

•Personal impact and the capability to build a prominent position in the external market – to be recognised as a leading market practitioner with a proven track record of delivery and as a partner of choice for debt funding solutions

•Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and networking skills

•Team player

•Proven people management skills and ability to lead teams to achieve success
