This is accomplished through a process of financial research, data gathering, planning, measurement, review and analysis. This includes research of new accounting requirements, review of peer practices and consultation with third parties. In addition, the incumbent will be directly responsible for, or have a thorough understanding of, one of several automated financial systems used by the group to perform the required accounting and reporting duties. The incumbent will stay abreast of all new automated tools available for existing software in their areas of responsibility and/or for new technology that might enhance the current processes. The incumbent may also be responsible for the oversight of certain financial accounting and reconciliation functions that exist. In addition, the incumbent may be responsible for the development and administration of Corporate policies and procedures and Corporate Accounting Policies & Procedures.
The qualified candidate will have a B.A./B.S. with Accounting concentration; C.P.A. or equivalent experience preferred. Knowledge of GAAP. Eight to ten (8-10) or more years progressive accounting and financial analysis experience with at least three to five (3-5) years of management/supervisory experience. Broad-based knowledge of advanced financial accounting and reporting concepts and processes; specialized knowledge of and experience in specific accounting and external reporting requirements; excellent communication (verbal, written), presentation and consultative skills. Additional duties require accounting for transactional activities and implementation of new FASB pronouncements.
