Our client, a leading European investment bank requires an experienced project financier to join one of their Continental European offices. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills; a proven track record in originating project finance transactions across the renewable energy, transportation and infrastructure sectors preferably across Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic; an understanding of the Austrian, Hungarian, Slovakian and Czech project finance market; be able to work autonomously or as part of a team; possess excellent interpersonal and analytical skills; be a confident negotiator; have the ability to master complex legal documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
During PROJECT ORIGINATION the ideal candidate will;
- Be responsible for the origination of transactions;
- Develop/maintain a network of private and public promoters, borrowers and financial institutions;
- Screen proposals and identify lending opportunities that best meet corporate objectives.
During the LENDING PROCESS the ideal candidate will;
- Evaluate, at an early stage, the quality of potential projects and their chance of success;
- Lead and manage the lending process in cooperation with other directorates;
- Structure loan proposals, evaluate the feasibility, analyze project and financial risks, draft reports and lending proposals in cooperation with the appraisal team;
- Manage effectively the appraisal process in coordination, as the case may be, with external advisors and co-lenders
During NEGOTIATION and MONITORING PROCESS the ideal candidate will;
- Negotiate the terms and conditions of loan and other project documentation with the promoter and other counterparts;
- Carry out due diligence and, in the event of any restructuring and/or contractual modifications, negotiate (in liaison with other Directorates) in order to maintain the quality of the loan portfolio and ensure the effective implementation of the financed projects
The successful candidate will ideally have;
- Minimum 2:1 degree in finance, economics or related discipline from a recognized institution;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the finance sector, preferably in structured lending and/or project finance;
- Exposure to and experience of either the Austrian, Slovakian, Hungarian or Czech markets.
- Strong language skills are essential and should include an excellent command of English and French with preferable knowledge of other EU languages such as German, Hungarian or Czech.
