The role of the Product Engineer is to lead, coordinate, execute and manage delivery and implementation of Product Launch/Change across Architas Multi Manager

The role of the Product Engineer is to lead, coordinate, execute and manage delivery and implementation of Product Launch/Change across Architas Multi Manager. To discharge this role to the high standard required, you will need to have a strong understanding of the overall Asset management business including; asset gathering (distribution) and manufacturing (investment management) as well as operations and other supporting functions along with  impacts such as Compliance, risk etc within the Investment Management business. 

In addition, the role will demand that you are capable of operating at various levels across the business.  You will be expected to plan, control and manage the Architas of product change but in a relatively small organisation it is critical that they are also comfortable and capable of executing many aspects themselves – this will be a hands-on role.

Key Operational Responsibilities

Implement, project manage and execute fund/product development implementation initiatives, including new fund launches and restructuring

Support the Product and Program managers to identify, create and manage create a program of change to support product launch and modification execution

Support the product approval and governance processes including advising distribution and investment teams on considerations for product change implementation

Ensure products meet regulatory requirements

Design the “front-to-back” operating model for new/amended products and issue an Operating Memorandum describing the operating model for each product.

Analyse impact and risks related to New Products/Product changes and working with functional areas to identify solution to mitigate the impacts and risks.

Coordinate events in the life of existing products like changes in custodian, fund accounting agents, merger, liquidation, new shareclass,

Act as a point of contact for all issues and queries arising through the new product development implementation process for designated product change initiatives

Provide support to the Product Committee and Program Board reporting process

Skills & Experience

A proven track record in product development and product management for an Investment Management organisation

Experience in an Investment Management environment.

Experience and knowledge of fund structures and regulatory requirements across a range of jurisdictions for institutional investors

A very good knowledge of organisation/process/systems for asset management firms across business activities is required.

Familiarity with fund regulatory requirements

Proven project management and change management experience

An ability to network and build relationships

Strong ability to present information effectively to the rest of the team, provide written reports to the manager and to communicate effectively at all levels.
