We acquire positions in venture capital, buyout and mezzanine funds, together with portfolios of companies or stakes in companies, from institutions, corporates, government bodies and family offices. Our investment in any one transaction ranges from $1 million to more than $1 billion.

Key tasks and responsibilities
You will participate in and contribute to all aspects of the deal process with responsibility for all primary quantitative and qualitative analysis of portfolio companies and funds.
ANALYSIS
- Qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate potential transactions including performing detailed sector and company research and analysis
- Conduct due diligence and assist with deal execution and transaction management
- Carry out portfolio company analysis including valuations and financial modelling.
- Prepare materials for Investment Committee and other internal meetings.
- Interact with external consultants and advisers as required regarding analysis.
- Assist with closing administration.
STRUCTURING AND EXECUTION
- Participate in the development of appropriate deal structures to meet sellers' and/or managers' needs in close liaison with in-house tax/legal team.
- Work with the deal team and Coller's in-house legal team to prepare and coordinate the execution of NDAs, offer letters, purchase agreements and other legal and transaction documentation.
POST-INVESMTENT MONITORING
- Keep up-to-date on portfolio performance and address any specific requests for action or approval (for example, receipt and sale/retention of distributed stock proceeds).
- Prepare returns forecasts, commentary and other investment information for Coller Capital limited partners meetings.
DEAL SOURCING, MARKETING AND FUND-RAISING
- Conduct desk research for marketing, deal sourcing and fund raising.
- Build strong relationships with GPs/Investors/Consultants/Advisers
- Undertake warm/hot calling and cold calling (all usually as part of a team focused on a specific geographic area, industrial sector or transaction type)
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL
- You will have compelted your analyst training or equivalent and may have some experience at an Associate level (c. 3-6 years related experience) within a relevant industry including private equity, corporate finance, leveraged finance, M&A, transaction services or corporate finance within a Big 4 accountancy firm, an investment consulting firm or as an investor/LP
- Good transactional experience
- Very strong analytical abilities
- Advanced financial and business modelling skills
- Established business network in the UK through working in the UK
- Fluent (written and spoken) English
- Fluent in at least one other language with a strong cultural understanding of that country
