Fitch currently rates covered bonds issued under 105 programmes from 94 different institutions.
Role profile
Based in London you will be focused upon the preparation and the presentation of key rationales behind rated covered bond instruments to internal rating committees as well as at times the external market primarily for Northern European issues.
You will be expected to write credit analysis reports and press releases on rated covered bonds when appropriate based upon your understanding of the legal framework for the covered bonds issuance as well as the underlying cover assets.
Within this position you will review all relevant laws and regulations, legal opinions and documents relating to the issue as well as conduct in-depth quantitative credit risk analysis of the cover pool assets, (which so far consists either in mortgage loans or public sector debt). Additionally you will consider the maturity, interest rate and/or currency mismatches between the cover pool assets and the covered bonds, conduct qualitative assessments of the operational risks based on on-site reviews at the issuers and be responsible for the maintenance of up-to-date information within a dedicated database.
Due to the coverage of this position some European travel can be expected.
Person profile
It is essential that you are numerate and ideally posses a degree or equivalent in a related subject. Previous experience in the covered bonds market or a securitisation background, such as in RMBS, CMBS or CDO, will be a distinctive advantage.
Due to the nature of this position you must demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, be fluent in all forms of English and have experience of formulating and delivering concise opinion, facts and arguments.
Further postgraduate study and fluency in a second European / Nordic language will also be a distinct advantage but is not an essential component.
