Account Management
Department overviewThe Account Management team is a growing department that provides relationship management and dedicated support to the largest clients of the firm. The team is responsible for providing a holistic perspective of the company to clients, identifying and referring new business opportunities, managing renewals, and serving as a central point of contact for inquiries.
Position summaryThe candidate will assist the Account Management team in all aspects of account management including presentation and meeting preparation, data mining, following up on action points, reviewing contract information, and liaising with other Markit business units.
The candidate should possess strong analytical and sales and marketing skills that can be applied to helping cover the company’s largest clients.
Duties & accountabilities• The operational responsibilities will include:
oGeneral support of account management activities
oPreparation of client presentations that are professional, accurate, timely, and brand-compliant
oPreparation of management and client reporting tools
oMaintenance of the CRM tool with account contacts and activity
oFollowing up on action points identified through client meetings and calls
oSupporting the contract renewal process
oSupporting the new business referral process
• The candidate will need to develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of Markit products and their application to the client base
• The candidate will be required to establish productive working relationships with both internal and external parties.
oLiaising with various internal teams including Sales, Product Management, Finance, Support, and Marketing to provide deliverables to the client
oProviding support to key account contacts to enhance the relationships and encourage new leads through a high level of customer satisfaction
Business competenciesEducation and experience
• University Degree (MBA beneficial)
• 1 - 4 years experience. Experience in financial services and/or bank training program would be beneficial
• High level of competency on Powerpoint, Excel & Word
• Salesforce.com experience a plus
Commercial awareness
• Knowledge of financial markets and OTC derivatives is a major plus
