My Client is a leading financial institute who have London offices that require an experienced Oracle DBA with extensive Oracle 10g exposure.

My client is looking for a Database Administrator in a 24x7 global infrastructure support group to support multinational databases infrastructure. This role is a member of a global team, reporting into an international technology support team located at corporate headquarters in New York City and matrixes into local management in London. You will have a minimum of 8 years experience with Oracle Database Administrator in a business environment including migration, installing, upgrading, restoring/recovering databases (Oracle 10g). Working experience of Kx KDB is a big plus. Hands-on technical experience with Oracle and MS SQL database migration, patching, upgrades, admin utilities/console; and cloning test and development environments from production environment. Knowledge in underlying Oracle and MS SQL Applications database architecture - schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, sequences, indexes, and constraints. Experience with configuration, backup/recovery, sizing and space management, PL/SQL tuning, diagnostics, and proficient with the use of Oracle's Enterprise Manager Tool and Toad as well as MS SQL. Install and maintain all software components as required to support OEM 10g and agent and MS SQL monitoring. Excellent trouble shooting abilities to identify root cause of production issues and resolve them quickly to maintain high availability. Experience opening, managing, and resolving Oracle SR's is a must.  Excellent organizational and time management skills with a focus on delivery, responsiveness, ownership and accountability are critical. Oracle database admin certification desired. Experience with configuration, backup/recovery, sizing and space management, tuning, diagnostics MySQL and Postgres database. Knowledge of the following is essential: Oracle Database 10g - OLTP and data warehousing on Linux and Oracle 10g RAC with Data Guard. Installation, patching, cloning and upgrades of Oracle Database, and installation and configuration of Oracle TimesTen. Oracle Database and applications security and cloning Oracle Database. Installation and configuration of Oracle OEM 10g. Installation and configuration of MS SQL. Troubleshooting, backup and recovery, performance tuning and management, of Oracle and MS SQL databases. Disaster Recovery of database, capacity planning and management, and some Linux and Windows operating systems expertise
