RESPONSIBILITIES
-Conduct and support fundamental credit research on investment grade corporate bonds as member of Corporate Credit Research Team
-Person will be key member of a team evaluating new investment opportunities and in managing existing investment positions
-Support trading and portfolio management response to new-issue and secondary investment opportunities through timely credit research and financial analysis
-Maintain current credit view and convey buy/sell/hold recommendations on credits to members of the investment team
-Provide credit input regarding ongoing asset selection and substitution for a number of Genworth bespoke synthetic CDO’s
-Maintain current credit view of firms by following news, press releases, rating agency actions, analyst publications, and other information sources
-Interact with the rating agencies, Wall Street analysts, and other independent credit analyst services to obtain outside view on individual credits or industries
-Educate other members of the investment team on significant current issues in industries or with individual credits
-Participate in monthly credit reviews and watch list discussions
-Provide credit research to support new business initiatives
-Develop and maintain relationships with Genworth’s primary securities dealer coverage
-Support required documentation of Credit Team analysis and decision-making
-Review quarterly and annual financial reports for companies in assigned universe of credits
-Provide written analysis on individual credits as required by internal policies
-Support in-depth financial assessment of identified assigned names for periodic accounting valuation processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Undergraduate degree in a business major
*Background in analysis of financial institutions and with non US financial sector preferred
•MBA or equivalent degree and 7+ years corporate credit research experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
•Experience and demonstrated ability in reviewing corporate financial reports
•Strong functional capability with Windows spreadsheet applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Background in analysis of financial institutions preferred
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Understanding of current credit risk models such as KMV, etc.
•Understanding of fixed income mathematics
•CFA or candidacy
