1)Strategy development and implementation across the Group
- Help to develop the strategic vision and aspirations as well as derive strategic imperatives for Emirates NBD and its entities/Businesses
- Identify, analyse, and prioritize growth opportunities for the Group
- Define, drive and monitor the strategic project portfolio in his area of responsibility
- Monitor progress against priorities and recommend any required shift in strategy
- Coordinate and monitor external strategic consultants in projects involved
2)Integration management
- Observe the integration process and follow-up on progress against work plan/deliverables
- Act as thought partner on integration challenges and resolve dependency issues among Integration Teams
- Monitor integration challenges and risks and quickly raise major issues for top management to resolve
3)Strategy development for Business/Support areas and Group entities
- Identify strengths and weaknesses and derive recommendations to improve BU performance
4)Initiate und support business development
- Identify opportunities and generate new business ideas (new business areas, products, etc.)
- Scope strategic projects and help determine the project design
- Initiate new business ventures (jointly with the Business) and gradually handover to project sponsors
5)Support strategic planning and increase strategic thinking capabilities across the Group
- Support and facilitate development of strategic plans for the Group and its entities/Businesses
- Foster strategic (planning) capabilities of leaders and managers in Emirates NBD
- Develop frameworks, processes, and models to support the activities of Group Strategy
6)Support to represent the Group in the business and financial communities through content preparation (speeches, presentations) for external communication
7)Support to build up and manage GST department
- Create a learning environment and continuously coach and mentor GST staff
