Overview of responsibilities

Reporting to the local CEO and managing a small team this is an excellent opportunity to join this successful financial services business. The successful candidate will be tasked with provision of legal advice to the management and the group's operational departments in relation to general commercial, financial services, and corporate laws and practices. You will manage and co-ordinate human resources and budgetary matters within the group's legal department. You will provide assistance in the provision of appropriate drafting and  handling of regulatory and other correspondence and transactional documentation as needed. You will help ensure appropriate co-ordination with external counsel as well as regulatory bodies.

Background

You will be legally qualified with typically 15 years relevant experience. Financial services experience is essential. Exposure to specific areas from a regulatory perspective is highly desirable - Securities, M&A, litigation, corporate finance, principal investment, etc.  You will be analytically minded with proven project management skills. You will possess extremely strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential and proficiency in Cantonese and /or Mandarin is very useful.
