Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Taxes reports to Senior Director, Taxes. S/he will be responsible for the management of the company’s global tax functions, including the global effective tax rate, M&A due diligence, structuring and support, international tax planning, tax compliance, management of outsourced resources, and management of worldwide tax projects.
- Manage the preparation of the company’s FAS 109 (ASC 740) income tax provision and related financial statement disclosures.
- Forecast annual effective tax rate for quarterly financial statements including analyzing tax-related events to determine if their impact should be separately disclosed in quarterly footnotes.
- Identify, document, and quantify FIN 48 uncertain tax positions.
- Manage compliance with worldwide tax related aspects of Sarbanes Oxley including oversight of the policy, process and documentation globally. Work closely with international controllers and external auditors to ensure successful compliance of tax internal controls.
- Manage outside tax consultants including reviewing intercompany transfer pricing analysis and the preparation of the company’s foreign income tax returns.
- Perform research and prepare memorandum on federal, state and international tax issues.
- Research and analyze value-added tax (VAT) issues.
- Assist with due diligence on prospective acquisitions and joint ventures.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of combined tax experience in a large multinational company and/or Big 4 firm
- BA/BS degree in Accounting/Finance
- Masters in Tax and/or LLM in Tax preferred, but not required
- CPA and MST (or equivalent) preferred, but not required
- Comprehensive understanding of the USA SEC tax reporting requirements, including FAS 109 and financial statement tax provision analysis
- Competence in US federal and state taxation, including corporate income tax returns and knowledge of multi-state income tax matters
- Competence in international tax issues including permanent establishments, indirect taxes, and transfer pricing
- Ability to communicate complex tax matters to top management
- Understanding of the process of calculating the global effective tax rate, including the impact of jurisdictional profits, tax rates and credits
- Must be fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese
- Self-motivated, with a high energy level.
