The role will assist in the review, interpretation and the implementation of controls and assurance for the financial aspects of change programmes under the control of Strategy Architecture & Business Services.
In addition, the role will provide the cost centre and other decision support (support, challenge and influence) for the Strategy & Architecture Business areas’ Executive and Senior Management.
Responsibilities

• Trusted to provide independent high quality and effective assessment of business performance.
• Assist in the provision of an objective opinion of the health of each Programmes’ governance, risk and financials to the Programme Directors.
• Provide analysis, challenge and review of programme costs and benefits ensuring that benefits are accurate and verified.
• Provide review and analysis of the risks and opportunities existing on sanctioned projects
• Maintain a good working knowledge of the cost and benefit drivers of all sanctioned projects.
• Provide financial support and leadership to Business Area Directors in relation to their cost centre financials, governance and risks. To include monthly reporting and periodic reforecasts/budgets.
• Provide financial support and leadership in relation to the country running costs, governance and risks. To include monthly reporting and periodic reforecasts.
• Assist the wider team in proactive development of robust financial control standards and processes.
• Support to the Head of Decision Support on any new projects as they arise.
The Individual
Qualified accountant with relevant PQE. Experience within a large financial services (or similar) organisation.
You will be a proactive self starter using initative where appropriate opportunities arise. Commercially aware, you will understand the business dynamics of the Division. Clear analytical thinking with the ability to handle complex dynamics to a clear understanding. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and to develop an effective network of clients. Energy and enthusiasm to lead others, connecting on all levels, leveraging relationships, engendering confidence and excellent communication skills will all be key to your success in this challenging role.
You will possess core accounting knowledge, understanding of Project cost drivers, sound use of Excel in terms of both data analysis and presentation. Be skilled in Management of cost centres under control - Actuals, Budgets, Forecasts. Programme Financial management, Risks and Commercials.
