Vice President, Commodities Group

DUTIES
Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc. seeks a Vice President, Commodities Group in Purchase, NY to serve as a commodity trader specializing in US Electricity derivatives. Trade and manage various types of derivatives for Eastern US Electricity markets. Trade variety of products including Swaps, Forwards, Futures, Simple Options (Puts, Calls and Straddles), Spread Options such as Heat Rate Options between Power and Natural Gas, and Complex Structured transactions such as Full Physical toll on a Power Plant. Day to day responsibilities include managing risk and profit and loss for portfolio of trades under management, pricing and executing new trades with clients, marking volatility curves and trading option products in broker markets, booking trades, calculating profit and loss, and signing off on profit and loss. Utilize understanding of statistics, probability theory and finance to value and manage portfolios. Utilize option pricing models such as Black-Scholes and variations to it. Financial tools include option pricing spreadsheets developed by Morgan Stanley's quantitative team and third party tools such as Reuters, Bloomberg, MIMIC, ICE and GLOBEX. Utilize trade booking and management platforms including Edison Plus, Franklin, CRR, and MarketBus.


Skills Required:
REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, Management Science or related field and five (5) years of experience conducting trades on behalf of global financial institutions. Experience must include managing complex derivatives for US electricity markets; trading large multi-asset and cross commodity trade portfolio with exposure to various US power and gas locations; pricing and executing trades utilizing financial models and tools including Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE and GLOBEX; and analyzing and reviewing option theory and models.
