The potential remuneration for this position is well above market rate, with bonus being linked to the P&L of the desk.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing the energy complex to investigate, improve and innovate trading strategies. They will collate and model short term fundamental data relevant to the EU Power market whilst supporting the energy trading desk with ad hoc analysis and relevant trading strategies.
The ideal applicant will have a minimum of a 2:1 (or equivalent) undergraduate degree in maths, economics, engineering or physics from a top tier school, preferably in addition to a Masters or Doctorate in the same field. The candidate will also have strong IT abilities with proven programming and modelling skill sets (VBA, Matlab, Java). They would have covered the energy & commodities complex from a macro perspective and have a deep knowledge of the EU Power market, with the ability not only to develop fundamental models but to also apply this analysis into trading strategies / ideas. It is most likely that they will currently sit within a hedge fund / CTA, investment bank,trading house or utility
