What will the role involve?

Based in our modern Milton offices and reporting to the General Manager Commercial, you will provide commercial analysis and support on projects across the business.  This will include involvement in: 

Commercial Project Support 

• Provide commercial modelling support for domestic and international tenders/negotiations (funding requirements / cash flow / FX / pricing / dividend repatriation)
• Complete contract reviews with respect to commercial conditions.
• Investigate and make recommendations on contracting options in international jurisdictions. This includes all commercial considerations (tax, accounting, legal, exchange controls, foreign exchange and cash management, invoicing, risk management). 
• Assist with general proposal and bid preparation and help drive internal bid approval process
• Provide linkage between operational business units and internal / external tax, accounting and legal advice.
• Perform capital project evaluations (discounted cash flow modelling, internal rate of return)
• Assist with pipeline modelling and analysis 

 Commercial Analysis

• Provide operational business units with greater visibility/clarity and assistance with budgeting process and associated actual reporting
• Assist Chief Operating Officer  - Coal (COO) with domestic and international business plan compilation and review
• Complete regular reviews of Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC)
• Assist COO with compilation and research of potential M&A targets

 What are we looking for?

To be considered for this role you will be Finance/Commerce/Economics degree qualified with at least 5 years similar commercial experience within the mining, mining services, construction or other asset intensive industry. CA or CPA qualifications highly regarded. Strong detailed financial modelling experience (NPV, IRR cash flow modelling) is essential as is exposure to tax and treasury, ideally at an international level.
