Senior Manager, Business Consulting

- Trading & Risk Management -

As Director, Business Consulting (Energy Trading and Risk Management) you will play a leadership role in developing client relationships and new business within the energy and utilities sector, managing delivery teams and achieving business unit financial goals and measures. You will adopt the role of the executive client’s trusted advisor and will analyze, plan and implement innovative business strategies to improve business performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead user research and business assessment to define business problems, drive innovative ideas, define business opportunities and recommend next steps
• Deliver rigorous decision-making by performing detailed cost/benefit analyses, presenting and evaluating solutions and driving consensus among key stakeholders
• Define, scope and plan new business solutions including determination of measurable business results, modeling of current and future business processes, and gathering business requirements
• Structure, price and negotiate complex client engagements
• Build and lead effective project teams across different disciplines
• Manage client engagements and accounts on executive level to high client satisfaction while adhering to revenue and margin guidelines
• Drive business development activities
• Engage in practice development, including resource planning, recruiting, training, thought leadership and community building

Experience Guidelines:

• Bachelors degree; MBA or MS degree in related field preferred

• Extensive Capital Markets expertise with strong domain knowledge in Trading and Risk Management operations across asset classes and front/mid/back office functions
• Profound consulting experience
• Experience with operations, sales, strategic planning, business development, marketing and IT
• Experienced in leading and developing people leading complex projects and cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to identify, negotiate and close new business opportunities
• Ability to manage and grow complex client relationships with multiple projects to a revenue/profit target
• Experience with business case scenario development, process mapping and redesign as well as change management tools and financial analysis
• Strong problem identification and analytical skills
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Significant travel may be required as much of the work is done at the client site
