As a member of the Middle East Oil & Gas Practice, you'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships.

With guidance from partners, directors and senior managers, you'll identify potential business opportunities for Ernst & Young. By drawing on your knowledge and experience, you'll adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs and contribute to thought leadership. You'll actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives. In line with our commitment to quality, you'll consistently drive projects to completion and determine that work is of a high quality. Your role in leading teams or parts of teams on engagements will depend on the size of engagement and will be under responsibility of higher levels. They will look to you to anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate. As an influential member of the team, you'll help create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.

Technical skills requirements

You'll have knowledge and experience of leading practices in a number of the following areas:

  •        Finance function transformation
  •        Supply Chain transformation
  •        HR transformation
  •        IT transformation
  •        Planning, budgeting and forecasting
  •        Business and individual performance measurement and performance management
  •        Management accounting
  •        Cost reduction opportunities
  •        Shared service / business process outsourcing
  •        Financial statement close process
  •        Organizational design and business modeling

Additional requirements

  •        Track record with a blue chip consulting firm
  •        Professional accountancy qualification or equivalent
  •        Strong academic record including a degree
  •        Proven experience in business development
  •        Knowledge of how oil and gas industry operates and track record of projects in the industry is a must
  •        Track record of working on overseas assignments is a plus

Client responsibilities

  •        Actively participate in engagements
  •        Assist in managing the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders
  •        Participate in business development initiatives
  •        Build strong internal relationships within Advisory and across other services

People responsibilities

  •        Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff
  •        Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
  •        Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training EY professionals
  •        Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
  •        Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • Bachelors degree/MBA from a leading business school is preferred.  Must hold a professional certification.
  • Minimum six (6) years of relevant oil & gas industry experience, of which preferably at least two (2) years will be within the professional services arena with a leading consulting firm.
  • Strong industry experience as well as extensive experience in leadership and/or key contributory roles in Accelerated Asset Development operating end-to-end across the oil and gas sector.
  • Considered a business advisor
  • Issue-based problem solving skills and strategy development, alignment, and implementation
  • Strong, proven, and verifiable client executive relationship development and business development skills, leading to sustained services pipeline and revenues at the targeted levels in the areas of interest.
  • High performance team leadership, management, and facilitation skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Leading client activities related to issue-based and fact based problem structuring, problem solving, strategy development, executive alignment, organizational change management, and implementation
  • Must have worked in multinational/matrixed organizations and is capable of working in a diverse environment.
  • A willingness to travel
