Purpose of Role:
• To assist the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (London) in ensuring that SG Hambros Group is effective in both deterring and reporting attempted money laundering (in line with the requirements of the SG Hambros Group anti money laundering policy and procedures).
• To safeguard the reputation of SG and SG Hambros Groups.
Qualifications Required:
NecessaryFinancial Services Experience
Desirable• Experience in Private Banking or Wealth Management.
Key Responsibilities:
General
• Overall support to the UK MLRO.
• Daily reviews of all new accounts throughout SGHBT (London) and SGHT (London) to ensure client verification and KYC requirements are met.
• Regularly review existing anti-money laundering control and monitoring procedures, recommending changes and effecting their implementation where agreed.
• Monitor client transactions through Fircosoft Message Filter (FMF), E2Gen and Siron monitoring systems.
• To Assist the UK Head of Compliance
Legislation, regulation and industry guidance
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and rules, policies procedures and controls.
• Assist review of new legislation, regulations and rules.
• Assist review, amendment and circulation of relevant procedures and guidance notes.
• Support liaison with regulators, auditors (internal & external) group compliance, other group companies and external organisations where appropriate.
Suspicion Reports and Production Orders
• Assist in the assessment and timely submission of all suspicion reports to SOCA where agreed by UK MLRO.
• Prepare response within strict time limits to all Orders served on the Bank.
Awareness
• Assist, arrange and deliver awareness programmes for staff.
• Ensure the continuous availability of relevant information to staff.
Know Your Customer
• Ensure by use of appropriate electronic and general systems the proper procedures to identify clients and potential clients, and of anyone on whose behalf they are acting, along with the origin of funds being invested.
• Ensure SGH does not act or agree to act for anyone the absence of such identification and KYC information.
• Ensure relevant client information is updated and recorded on a continuous basis.
• Consider the anti-money laundering implications of new client information.
• Ensure records concerning the identity and KYC information of clients are retained for the prescribed periods and are readily available.
