Lewtan Technologies, the leading provider of workflow solutions to the global asset securitization industry with corporate headquarter based in Waltham Ma, is looking for a bright, intelligent, creative, and experienced Principal Software Engineer

Principal Software Engineer will establish ways to better improve our systems, serve our clients business objectives and become an integral part of our dynamic development team. This individual would report directly to the Senior Director of Development and would be responsible for designing software and architecture of a variety of projects.   In addition, this individual would be responsible for developing requirements and recommendations for hardware and infrastructure required to support current and future needs of projects/products.

The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for designing software and architecture of a variety of projects.   Responsible for developing requirements and recommendations for hardware and infrastructure required to support current and future needs of projects/products.

The Principal Software Engineer will collaborate with several departments and will be required to provide status to the project’s Development Manager and Products/Project Manager on a regular basis, participate in the definition of resources requirements such as what resources are needed, when are they needed and for how long, and recommend technology requirements for development, demonstrations, and production.

When required, Principal Software Engineer may perform testing, debugging, and production support.

Technical Requirements

• 10+ years programming experience
• Proficient in software architecture & development with Microsoft.Net platform (3.0 framework and higher, C#, ASP.Net): Includes proficiency using Visual Studio, web development, database-related development
• .Net Web Services, IIS, XML, HTML, Multi-threaded programming, application programmer interface (API) development
• Proficient with Microsoft ASP.Net MVC framework to build web applications
• Proficient in Lucene technology to build high performance search applications
• Proficient in SQL database application development
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• B.S. Computer Science/Engineering degree; master’s degree will be a plus

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

1)Contributes to system-level architectural discussions, reviews and provides feedback of requirements, design and test documents.  

2)Develops and applies state-of-the-art methods, theories and research techniques to the specification, design development, implementation, and maintenance of complex software and hardware architectures.

3)Works closely with product management to analyze marketing requirements, technology trends, customer needs, and competitive threats and, as a result, devises technical solutions. 

4)Leads the software product specification and design process as well as writing high level, detailed software specifications.

5)Mentor project and Product Development staff; provide technical expertise to Principal and Senior Developers; drive technical reviews in a constructive and collaborative manner; work with the Development Manager to identify necessary skills training for staff.

6)Prepare technical documentation and review requirements of the architectures for internal and client review. Lead reviews of the architecture.

7)Drive adherence to architecture on a daily basis; work aggressively with other developers to find work-around and extensions when required; actively balance evolving needs and requirements within existing architectures and plans.

8)Demonstrate excellent time management, planning and organizational skills

9)Have an ability to multitask and handle multiple projects and daily responsibilities without being overwhelmed

10) Be able to work under pressure and time constraints

11) Show leadership and team focus including the willingness to provide ongoing support to other team members
