Group Description:The Credit Risk Management Team reports into the Private Bank Shared Services Product and Platform Group.
This team monitors all JPM Private Banking exposures (Loans, OTC Derivatives, and Brokerage Margin Loans) secured by financial assets (equities, Fixed Income products, etc).
The functions performed by this team are critical to protecting the bank from potential credit losses.
Job Description:
JP Morgan Private Bank is looking to fill a position that specializes in managing the collateral control risks inherent in a secured Bank lending portfolio, with particular focus on assessing and managing risks associated with new products and strategies.
The Collateral and Derivative Risk Analyst will review and fortify end to end processes to ensure proper reporting and assessment of risk throughout the AWM and corporate infrastructures.
The analyst will work very closely with Middle Office, Trade Operations, Risk Management and Capital Markets Credit to manage collateral and secured credit exposure, execute client requests, identify and escalate credit issues, and manage risk.
The key project responsibilities of the Collateral and Derivative Risk Analyst are:
Work to improve the operations and collateral monitoring capabilities for PB clients trading FX/Derivatives and capital market products.
Several priorities outlined as part of the 2010 agenda, and include:Review end to end process for booking in PB and execution on IB platforms, identify gaps / opportunities to streamlineDevelop plan to fortify reconciliation between PB and IB platforms for daily trade MTM required for collateral monitoringWork closely with Capital Markets Credit team, Global Investment Opportunities team, Investors/Sales Trader, Middle Office to resolve gaps / flow issuesPartner with Capital Markets Credit and technology team to refine collateral requirement calculations for emerging products and strategies and to align to Credit Support Annex definitionsReview offline derivative monitoring processes - identify opportunities to improve / streamlineCreate business requirements for enhancements needed to collateral monitoring platform in order to move offline monitoring into Credit Workstation.
Will require review of trade identification and strategies.

Daily Responsibilities of CRM Team Members:-
Create and maintain collateral terms in the Credit Workstation (lending values, pledges, special comments)-
Build, manage and maintain off-line monitoring arrangements as necessary to support PB credit product and/or collateral-related covenants-
Responsible for confirming compliance with collateral related regulations (Reg U, Reg T, 23A)-
Responsible for confirming control of collateral for various arrangements (deriv, 3rd party pledges, physical certs) and instructing areas as appropriate to lien/release assets-
Verify collateral adequacy for client initiated transaction and approve disbursements under secured loan transactions-
Track collateral held by a 3rd Party Custodians-
Manage inquiries from Credit, Lenders, Client Services and Loan Operations on control, collateral and compliance related topics-
Review, validate, issue and track margin calls.
Identify cause/recommend solution to Lenders/Credit/Sales Traders-
Identify breaks in process, gaps and weaknesses; escalate as appropriate; recommend and implement improvements-
Understand Lending Value methodology, Credit Policy, Compliance requirements-
Contribute to technology enhancements and problem identification for the monitoring application used for Bank Credit Exposure (CMS)-
Lead projects for work process automation, system integrations/development, etc. for the PB in concert with other PB disciplines and/or corporate project teams-
Perform risk management reporting
